On April 15, 2015 (the 103rd anniversary of sinking) Joseph Mortati gave a presentation at American University in Washington, DC to business faculty and students on his Titanic Story. The audience appreciated the unique insights and how Titanic’s decision-makers did things very similar to what is taught in business schools.
In late 2013, three graduate student students from Texas Woman’s University, interviewed the author as part of project for the course “Managerial Decision Making”. They chose the Titanic as their case study and questions focused on the “Pareto Principle” (aka “80/20 Rule”) and how a firm understands and markets to its customer base and understand Customer Lifetime Value.
Author Joseph Mortati recently spoke to the General George G. Meade Chapter of The Military Order of the World Wars on his latest book. The crowd of 30 veterans asked many questions regarding how the author got interested in writing the story and details of the operational decisions.
